I learned to sew when I was nine years old and made my first quilt in 1979. (YIKES!) I love quilting and cannot wait until the piecing is finished so I can get to the actual quilting which for me is the most fun part.
I am so excited to now be working on a Gammill Statler Stitcher and collaborating with quilters to help create a vision for their finished piece.
In addition to quilting, I love all needlework (sewing, knitting, crocheting, punch needle, cross stitch, needlepoint). I also grow orchids and have over a dozen different varieties.
I made my first quilt my senior year of college in 2000 as a stress relief from my studies. After a brief Mechanical Engineering career, I decided to stay home with my three sons.
Since my “retirement,” I have been teaching and working part-time in a Local Quilt Shop. I enjoy the entire process of making a quilt, but my favorite step is quilting! I love choosing quilting patterns and watching the impact it makes on a quilt.
In between quilts and taking care of my family, I try to find the time to knit, garden, and read.
